As the semester rolls into week 5, I thought a short post about this past few weeks happenings would be a good way to get this blog moving again! This semester is shaping up to be a very busy and exciting one for the IRIS center and all of the fabulous students and faculty therein! This semester we have 17 STUDENTS working in our lab on various projects! This has made organization, scheduling and personal consideration our focus these first few weeks.  Thank you to all of you who took the time to attend our workshops to get a feel for the rules and regulations of the lab. It was very nice getting to meet all of you and I am sure we will be bumping into each other regularly in the lab.

Since we have so many students using our compact space, the organization and flow of the lab has become very important. We have given each project their own space to store project work and supplies and named each computer for easy communication through email and the Google calendar.  As the semester moves forward we will also be implementing a library type system for the checking out and in of lab equipment, as well as a complete inventory available to show what our lab has to offer other possible projects interested in our little community!

Welcome to you all! Keep an eye out for further updates and future events!
