Inflammatory content online has always been common. However, ‘trolling’ has evolved into a more insidious and malicious tactic for gaining attention on the internet. The concept of ‘rage-baiting’ has been increasingly discussed, defined as a form of online content meant to induce outrage and interactions with the offending post. A quick and popular way to kick off angry arguments in comments sections is by the use of misogynistic or woman-hating language.
