Imagine, what your life would be like without power? My senior capstone project was directed toward highlighting the importance of vocational careers and working to stop the detrimental effects being felt in small communities without enough tradespeople. Vocational education is crucial, so I developed an Instagram page to share information about what vocational careers are available, the benefits of a vocational education, scholarship opportunities, and sample pathways to various fields.

Stop the Superbugs!
For this project, I designed an educational Instagram page centered around solving the issue of antibiotic resistance. Bacteria are rapidly evolving to become resistant to the antibiotic medications we have today, causing 2.8 million infections and about 35,000 deaths (CDC). In this page I outline ways in which the public can learn about this issue and what they can do to help. I got to personally interview a microbiology professor at SIUE to help inform my project. The Literacy Crisis
By: Jerrica Asbeck This is a series of emails with digital posters, links to Google Forms, resources for finding and buying books, and book recommendations. These emails would be sent out to parents/guardians of students at the high school level. The first email would simply inform parents/guardians of the problem and offer a solution while encouraging them to keep looking for more emails on how they can help. The Birth of A.I.
This project was as much about teaching people about the basic progression from natural resources to digital technology as it was about challenging myself. At the beginning, I had only a limited amount of knowledge on the process for making it a reality. In the process, I learned a lot about Javascript, CSS, HTML, and Github.
