Introduction of Vincent Fang:

Vincent Fang, born on January 26, 1969, in Hualien County, Taiwan, is the editor-in-chief of the Chinese Print Publishing House. Chinese Tawinesses male director, Asian pop king Jay Chou, who uses the gold medal as a lyricist, has the reputation of "Word Stant".He is good at dismantling the inertia of language use, giving it a new meaning and constructing a postmodern new word style. The lyrics of his creations have a sense of the picture and oriental style in the eastern country, which is in line with the overall musical style of Chinoiserie.

Life experience :

In 1996, Vincent Fang was born in a blue-collar family in a remote town in Taiwan. Vincent starts working when he was very young, every summer and winter vacation he finds a part-time job such as a salesman, a restaurant waiter, and advertising dispatcher. He has tasted the bitter of the life in his childhood. In his biography Dear, We live in the Best Time, Vincent said：“I owing my success to the different life experiences that I learned from the hard life in my young age and my passion on reading different kinds of books, especially the book about Chinese classical culture (Fang, 2011)."

Taiwan- China Culture

Although Vincent was born in Taiwan, he has lived in the mainland-China for five years. Therefore, Taiwanese culture and the mainland-Chinese culture have a profound impact on his lyrics. Vincent's ancestral home in Yudu County, Jiangxi Province. Jiangxi province is famous for its porcelain because of Jingdezhen--the homeland of china. According to some literature, the Jingdezhen porcelain industry can be traced back to the Warring States period, when the original celadon has been produced. Since then, Jingdezhen has been making porcelain. Until the Yuan Dynasty, Jingdezhen made blue and white porcelain which made it famous in the world. During the Ming and Qing Dynasties, Jingdezhen's ceramic production was more perfect, and it became an important production base for the royal family. It is because of the influence of porcelain culture that Fang Wenshan wrote a lyric about it--the Blue and White Porcelain.

However, the traditional culture in Taiwan is another important factor influencing the creation of Vincent lyrics. As a result of the end of the civil war in China, Chiang Kai-shek and his followers fled to the small island of Taiwan, which led to the emergence of Taiwanese traditional culture. In Taiwan, tradition culture studies are one of the subjects that are listed as compulsory. This means that Taiwanese students will be influenced by traditional culture from an early age. Due to this education, Vincent has his special view on traditional cultural and love it so much. That's why he can write many success lyrics with Chinoiserie style. 

Personal Hobby

Vincent Fang prefers things with a sense of history. He is very obsessed with old things. When he first came to Beijing a few years ago, he liked to go to the old alleys to be demolished with friends, picking up the houseplants with the words "somewhere in the alley".His home is also different. His home is decorated in seven styles: Mediterranean living room, Japanese Yuya, French style kitchen, old Taiwanese restaurant, bathroom in the rainforest style,  abandoned factory style bedroom, and American style garden. In his restaurant, there are billboards of folk cultural relics such as tobacco and alcohol public sales bureaus, stoneware plates, hand-operated telephones, rafts, etc., and they are in a space full of old cultural relics. This arrangement makes people have an illusion that they go back to the past.
