Findings and Discussion
Remember that your study must include a critical assessment of whether or not the author has created scripted language that 'accurately' or ‘authentically’ reflects patterns found in 'real-life' sociolinguistic accounts of particular ethnic groups based on the core of our readings in the class. (refer to the research project handout). This is a good place to include such a critical discussion.
Here, I would present some lyrics with linguistic features that I find relevant to my central argument. I have bold-faced these lyrics (which I got from a web site), and I would want to discuss the bold-faced pieces of language. In this case, these are vocabulary and expressions that in the 1980's were a part of African American English protest discourse.
