You are also able to design and layout information in a way that you think best displays what you are trying to get across. In terms of viewing a digital visualization of context, you\u2019re able to take in information on a certain topic without feeling bombarded. While viewing the timelines, you could easily follow each transition and take in the important information that was presented based on what the creator of said timeline thought was relevant. The topic of my groups timeline was \u201cdevelopment of the women\u2019s movement\u201d. The first thing I did when attempting to research this topic was pull up google. I typed in \u201cwomen\u2019s movement\u201d, trying to use a general and broad term so I could find as many results as possible. From there, I looked through different websites, along with my other group members, until we found some events that we thought would be extremely relevant to put into our timeline. After we found enough dates to fill the required amount, we went about splitting up the dates so we each had a specific section of the timeline to present. Then, I was on my own again and google searched each of my events separately. The hardest part about doing the research was trying to narrow down the important information to include for each event. I usually tend to include too much information during presentations due to the fear of not including something important. Needless to say, this made finding the relevant facts to include quite hard. Even after narrowing down the information I chose to include, the text on my slides was still quite lengthy. For my image, I chose a drawing of the 1850 National Women\u2019s Rights Convention.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.thoughtco.com\/thmb\/j_z7kzNBRZ12gdAwHdeFV6bEBeo%3D\/768x0\/filters%3Ano_upscale%28%29%3Amax_bytes%28150000%29%3Astrip_icc%28%29\/mocking-womens-rights-convention-1859-121994804a-56aa208d5f9b58b7d000f659.png?w=960&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"Image result for 1850 women's rights\" \/><\/p>\n<p>I first tried using google images to find a decent photo, but had trouble in the with trying to figure out how to make the image appear on our timeline. I ended up using a photo from Wikimedia Commons, since using an image from this sight had been helpful for one of my group members. The internet played a huge role in the process of finding information and finding an image for our timeline. Without the internet we wouldn\u2019t have been able to even create our timelines. If we hadn\u2019t used the internet and had to find our information using textbooks instead, it would have taken much longer and would have likely been more frustrating. Using the internet for this process also broadened my capabilities with finding items since there is an endless amount of information on the internet that we can use at our disposal. As soon as you type something into the google search engine, millions of results pop up in less than a second.
