Degree in Fine Arts and my A.A.S. Degree in Early Childhood Education from Rend Lake College. I worked as a substitute teacher at Rend Lake College Foundation Children&#8217;s Center in 2015 after my father passed away from cancer in 2014, before starting to pursue my Bachelor&#8217;s Degree.\u00a0 I loved working with the infants and toddlers and would do it again in a heartbeat if I had the time.\u00a0 I have also worked as a service clerk at Walgreens for the past six and a half years.<\/p>\n<p>In my free time, I enjoy acting in theatre productions, writing poems and plays, playing board games or card games, and going camping in the summer.\u00a0 I also love spending time at the lake.\u00a0 I have a cat named Scout and I love raccoons.\u00a0 Before becoming an English Major, I spent a year majoring in Psychology.\u00a0 I am obsessed with studying personality types.\u00a0 I am an INFP.<\/p>\n<p>I lived on campus for my first two years here, but due to some personal issues (including some medical issues as well as struggling with my mental health), I am commuting from Mt. Vernon this year. It has been rough, so I look forward to moving back to campus this coming fall. I had Post-Apocalyptic Literature online with Professor DeSpain this summer and the books we read were a lot more fun than I expected!<\/p>\n<p>I am excited that our class is so small. My high school graduating class was made up of 14 students, so the size of our class is something I find comforting. I am also happy to be experimenting with technology in this class. I have always loved messing around on the computer. I am also looking forward to the books that were are able to look over, especially\u00a0<em>Herland\u00a0<\/em>by Charlotte Perkins Gilman.\u00a0 I actually really enjoyed the blogging aspect of Post-Apocalyptic Literature, as I had a blog when I was younger, so I am glad to be able to do the same thing in this class.<\/p>\n<p>With that said, there are several things I am terrified about. I tend to hate group projects because I am often an awkward and shy person. While I am excited about the use of technology, I am also terrified. I have no idea what to expect as far as the technology goes. I am confused about exactly what we are going to be doing with the books. I am pretty good at using certain kinds of technology, but I am rather intimidated by others. Though I am fairly good at participating in class discussions when I know that I need to, I am bad at asking questions when I don&#8217;t understand something.
