Introduction
Overall, I think I’ve worked hard to continue to learn even after the class has moved on to a different project. I’ve been particularly adept at tinkering, and as Dr. DeSpain mentioned in her feedback, I’ve been very specific about process in my writing. I’ve also tried hard to think about content as well as learn about technology, which is sometimes a challenge. At this point in the semester, I’ve realized I’ve put less effort into composition than I originally assumed I would, but rather than revising the contract, I’d like to take the opportunity afforded by the final project to specifically work on my ability to write for the web.[include an introduction that summarized your accomplishments, considers areas for improvement, and discusses how and why you might want to adapt your original contract.]

Goal: Learn how people in the nineteenth-century understood their relationship to technology and how that compares to our own moment. [copy each of your goals from the learning contract into the section]
In this blog post, I discuss how shorthand is a technology to which Dracula doesn’t have access, and how that compares to current conceptions of nationality and technological literacy. It demonstrates my ability to make connections between the nineteenth century and our own cultural moment. I wish I would have found more textual examples to bring in from the novel. [Provide a short write-up explaining how the artifact you’ve included demonstrates how you met the goal].
Goal: Learn how technology can be used to interpret literature.
This is an example of my Voyant project, see the more detailed discussion of my first forays into Voyant in this blog post. Since reading the novel and talking more about Voyant in class, I realized that I could use the links tool to demonstrate relationships between characters and their writing instruments and repositories. Notice that Mina is particularly linked to the word journal, and that her connection to the term signficiantly increases toward the novel’s end, suggesting that Mina’s importance in the text increases in connection to her journaling activities.
