  • Collaboration

I have always enjoyed working in pairs, I don’t think I have ever had a terrible experience working with others (Hope I didn’t just jinx it). In class it seems most people have the same goal, which is to pass the class. Although I have worked with people who did not always hold up their end of the work, but I usually just try to remind of a deadline or time frame so they feel more accountable for their portion. If they are still struggling with their part I may try to offer some help and that will typically get people running, because you are making them do it! The…

  • Mapping

I enjoyed the mapping a lot more than Gephi, it was more straightforward and easier to work with. For mapping we chose to use Google Mapping, I think we chose that one because of how many examples there were for us to look at. It also helped that some of them were pretty interesting, like; UFO sightings, bigfoot, and pokeman go maps. It allowed us to personalize our own map and use any kind of style that we wanted. I enjoyed being able to pick the icons and the ability to choose where we placed them. We could switch it up and cover a larger area with a box or…

  • Timeline

To begin this I just want to let you guys all know how excited I was that I uploaded the timeline on like the first try! It may have been an accident but i’ll take it as a win! Or maybe I’m getting the hang of this whole technology thing a little bit!  I really enjoyed constructing this timeline it allowed me to be a little creative while also keeping it all very organized. I can learn a lot from this type of digital visualization, I am able to clearly see what happened in what year and maybe even a picture or video to go along with it. This makes…

  • Blog 3- Annotation studio/ Voyant

The Annotation studios was a very basic website, there was not much too it. It was pretty neat how you could post your input as you read and read my classmates comments about the text but it did not add any other cool features. It was very bare minimum, the crowd reading was very helpful and added insight from classmates that I had not thought of. I learned that annotating as I read allows me to remember and mark important details of the text. I enjoy being able to look back and recall what exactly I was thinking at that part of the text. By reading my classmates annotations I…
