Sonya Massey called the police to her home on July 6 at 12:50 am in fear of someone outside her house. The officers get there and start asking Sonya why she called. She tells them why and invites the two officers inside her home. Grayson (the murderer) spots the pot of boiling water and tells Sonya to turn off the water. Sonya got up and went to turn it off and said her last words. \u201cI rebuke you in the name of Jesus.\u201d Grayson got aggravated and shot Sonya three times fatally. (Johnson, 2024)<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n BOOM, CRASH\u2026 is all Sonya heard when her life flashed before her eyes and the only thing standing before her was a gorilla. Earlier that day, Sonya had wanted to go to the zoo with her family after she had gotten off work. She called everyone and they all had told her to turn on the news and call back to see if she really wanted to go after she had learned about the situation. She was confused and at once rushed to turn on the television in her break room and was bewildered as to what happened. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n It was reported that a gorilla named Rob had escaped from the zoo, and there is no information about its whereabouts. The news reporter told the residents of Springfield to be safe and careful if they saw Rob roaming about. It also said do not approach Rob but call animal control or the police, because Rob might be hostile. The zookeepers at Henson Robinson made a statement about Rob and said \u201cWe apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused but we repeat do not approach Rob under any circumstances. Rob is highly intelligent, combatant, and impulsive. He will act in a split second and has no worries about the consequences it may bring about. We ask that you stay in your homes and be safe.\u201d Sonya was at once stunned and canceled her trip to her zoo. She was heartbroken because she wanted to do something with her family and have a fun day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Sonya worked the rest of her shift and said goodbye to her coworkers and clocked out like normal. Sonya was cautious while driving, because Rob was still on the loose and she wanted to ensure that she made it home safely. At every stoplight, she prayed for protection over her family, and she prayed that Rob was brought back safely. She praised God that she made it back safely without any complications. She remembered that her son was at his friend\u2019s place for the night. She called him to make sure that he was safe and not to do anything foolish until that gorilla was found. They talked for a while and then she said goodbyes and said good night when she noticed it was late. She realized she was still hungry and decided to cook something. She decided to cook spaghetti and put water on the fire. She turned on the television and decided to turn to the news, hoping to find out some updates about Rob. As she was watching the news, she heard rustling in her front yard. Frightened, she at once called the police for help. <\/p>\n\n\n\n As they showed up, Sonya is still frightened. So, she takes a long time to open the door for the two officers. One officer named Grayson gets particularly annoyed with Sonya. As Sonya finally opens the door, Grayson says in a passive \u2013 aggressive tone. \u201cAre you doing all right mentally, and what took you so long to open the door?\u201d Sonya felt like she was being accused instead of helped but responded to the officer the way she was taught. Polite and respectful. She invited them into her home. She was having a conversation with the officers about the gorilla on the loose and was curious to know if he was brought back safely. The television is on in the background and reporting on Rob\u2019s whereabouts as they speak. Grayson spots the pot of hot water and tells Sonya to turn it off. She abides by his instructions and goes to turn it off. But as soon as Grayson took a step back, Sonya saw and felt an demonic spirit around Grayson and her spirit activated and she rebuked him in the name of Jesus Christ. Grayson got aggravated and took his gun out to shoot Sonya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n BOOOM \u2026Rob suddenly busted into Sonya\u2019s front door and headed straight for Grayson, flinging Grayson across the room and which resulted in him being injured by the gorilla\u2019s force. Grayson\u2019s partner is in shock and scared for his life. He was torn between calling an ambulance or succumbing to fear. Sonya on the other hand is eerily calm and relieved when this happens. She locks eyes with Rob and they both stare at each other for a moment, but it feels like several hours before Rob walks away. Sonya is forever indebted to him and thanks God for his divine intervention. <\/p>\n\n\n\n <\/p>\n\n\n\n Grayson\u2019s partner is bewildered at the exchange that Sonya and this gorilla had. He called the ambulance for Grayson and the police arrived and questioned both, but Sonya did not care about their questions, she just wanted to know if that gorilla was safe. Sonya finds out a couple of weeks later that Rob is safe. She visits him on weekends, and they are always so happy to see each other.
