The Literary Data Gallery seeks to make an intervention in the critical discourse on literature by displaying data visualizations related black novels and literary history. The site provides audiences with an alternative to the many scholarly articles and book chapters that typically concentrate on a relatively small number of literary texts. The Literary Data Gallery uses bubble charts, line charts, mapping tools, and other visualizations to convey ideas about several, dozens, and even hundreds of novels by black writers.
