Throughout the course of a person’s life, there are few things that remain constant. One of these constants is illness. Everyone gets sick. While there have been great achievements in medicine throughout history, ensuring that these innovations make their way to as many citizens as possible is still an ongoing battle. There are many barriers to accessing healthcare, and when it is possible, there are still issues relating to equity in the healthcare industry. These issues take place across America in vastly different settings. Fortunately, there are various organizations, such as the YWCA, that are attempting to resolve these issues in their own respective ways.
