We have learned that the high schoolers did appreciate and did benefit from us being their mentors. They have also taught us to be patient and the importance of teamwork in a broader aspect. We sought to find the benefit of mentorship and found that sometimes being a mentor isn’t just pushing someone to do the things they have to do; sometimes it is simply the person who is there to listen and help guide, even with the smallest things that may happen within early adulthood.
