What We Learned From Our Survey
Some common themes throughout the responses in our surveys were:
- Landlords in Cahokia Heights can often be unresponsive to their tenants needs.
- A lot of tenants in Cahokia Heights feel that their homes are not in suitable living conditions.
- Tenants in Cahokia Heights are often left to deal with housing complications by themselves.
- Some renters in Cahokia Heights have “under the table” agreements with landlords to be able to afford housing. These agreements can easily give the landlord more power over the tenant because they are not legally binding
