Black Panther & Black Aesthetics

During his run on Black Panther (2016–2021), Ta-Nehisi Coates infused the storylines with Black aesthetics—terminology and cultural markers rooted in African American and Black diasporic histories and cultures. These terms and markers included references to books by and about Black people, as well as the introduction of distinct names and places.
