Abstract

The "breat plate" attached to the sleeves is discussed by Cath Oberholtzer and Cory Willmott as a significant attribute that might bear relation to men's hunting charms. This is a rare example of a breast plate among the Minnesota Anishinaabe. These same sleeves with breast plate are also worn by Margaret Guinon (neg.# 57555 - see Relation).
